Quick answer
Lumos Robotics is a Shenzhen-based embodied-AI company founded in 2024 that builds industrial humanoid and wheeled-arm robots, the data-capture tools used to train them, and the models that run them. China Innovation Visits arranges a visit to its Shenzhen or Suzhou site for organized business, industry and institutional groups — the two cities are separate bookable programmes with the same structure. The ideal group size is 10–20. Programs are priced for groups, and larger groups are usually more cost-effective. Individuals and smaller groups are welcome to inquire; their per-person rate is higher than the group rate. A typical visit runs about two hours: a company and technology briefing, guided time in the R&D centre with live robot demonstrations, and an open technical discussion. Access to any specific area depends on the host's approval, your dates and the final itinerary. Send us your group size, preferred city and dates, and learning goals to check feasibility.

What Lumos Robotics does, and what it has achieved
Lumos Robotics was founded in Shenzhen in September 2024 by Yu Chao, previously head of the humanoid robot business at Dreame Technology and earlier involved in developing and mass-producing the Xiaomi CyberDog quadruped. The company builds industrial embodied-AI robots and the stack around them: the robot bodies, key components such as joint modules and sensors, the hardware used to collect training data, and the models that turn that data into action.
Four things are worth knowing before you arrive:
Robots. LUS is a full-size bipedal humanoid; the company says it can rise from the floor in about a second and runs on a 275 TOPS onboard chip. MOS is a heavy-duty wheeled robot with two arms and a stated 50 kg dual-arm payload, aimed at material handling; the company says it covers more than 90% of industrial transfer tasks it has scoped. NIX is a compact humanoid built for service and companion scenarios, and LUD is a wheeled-legged platform.
Data capture. Lumos builds the FastUMI line of data-collection devices. The underlying UMI approach collects manipulation data with a hand-held gripper and wrist cameras instead of teleoperating a full robot, which removes the need to have hardware on site for every hour of data. This is the part of the business most visitors have not seen before.
Models. The company describes its Lumos NexCore engine as combining world models with vision-language-action models.
Deployment. Public reporting names Mitsubishi Electric, COSCO SHIPPING, Dematic and JD.com as partners or customers; MOS units are reported to run AI appearance-inspection work on Mitsubishi Electric production lines. The company has raised several funding rounds, with its A1 and A2 rounds reported as led by Mitsubishi Electric's China intelligent-manufacturing arm.
Treat the performance claims above as company-stated. We have not verified them independently, and we do not restate them as our own measurements.
What makes the visit worth arranging: data collection is the bottleneck everyone in embodied AI talks about and few have seen working. Here you can watch the capture hardware, the robot, and the task it was trained on in the same room, and ask the team where it still breaks.
What your delegation can see
Company and technology briefing. How the company positions its product lines, where it is in its commercialisation, and which applications it is actually shipping into. Useful context before you see hardware.
R&D centre. The humanoid and wheeled-arm platforms, joint modules and sensors, and the data-capture equipment. Groups normally see robots demonstrated rather than left on stands, with engineers present.
Live demonstrations. Robot runs staged in the R&D centre, showing the tasks the platforms were trained on. Which demonstrations run depends on the host's schedule that day; your confirmed itinerary will list them.
Technical discussion. An open session hosted by a business director or above and supported by engineers, on the questions your group submits in advance.
Not part of this programme: the production floor, customer sites, and any station the host has not cleared for visitors.
Learning objectives
- For manufacturing and operations teams: which material-handling tasks a 50 kg dual-arm wheeled robot can take over today, and which still need a human?
- For R&D and data teams: how much real-world data a hand-held capture device actually produces, and how much of it survives training?
- For technical teams: what breaks first when a humanoid leaves a lab for a factory floor — power, reliability, or task generalisation?
- For MBA and institutional groups: how a company founded in 2024 chooses between selling robots, components, data tools and models — and what that means for its margins?

Each city is a separately bookable programme; choose one, not both. These are samples. The final programme depends on your group's objectives, host confirmation and the schedule on the day, and the two sites do not always have the same stations open.
How this page is verified
Company facts on this page were checked on 13 October 2026 against public company profiles, trade press and company-published material. Performance claims are marked as company-stated rather than verified. Photographs appear only with the host's permission. We do not claim past delegations or visitor feedback until a project has actually run and the client has agreed to be referenced.
Booking and cost
Send us your organisation, group size, preferred city and dates, and what your team wants to learn. We check host availability and the access your brief needs, then come back with a proposed itinerary and a quote. Quotes are built per group and usually cover four things: host arrangement, technical speaker, interpreting and on-site coordination. We recommend applying at least 30 days ahead; some elements need longer. We do not publish a fixed price because scope, language and group size change the quote.
Questions before a Lumos Robotics visit
Can one or two people join? Yes, you can inquire. Our programmes are priced for groups and the ideal size is 10–20, so the per-person rate for a very small group is higher than the group rate. Tell us your numbers and we will tell you what is workable.
Which city should we choose, Shenzhen or Suzhou? Both run the same three-part structure. Shenzhen is the headquarters in Bao'an; Suzhou is the company's R&D centre. Choose by travel plan: Shenzhen fits a Pearl River Delta itinerary, Suzhou fits a Yangtze Delta one.
Do the two cities show different things? The programme structure is the same. Which stations and robots are available differs by site and by day; we confirm this with the host for your specific date rather than promising a fixed list.
Can we go onto the production floor? No. Production areas are not open to visitors at either site. What you see instead is the R&D centre with live demonstrations, which is where the robots are actually run.
How far in advance should we book? At least 30 days. Host scheduling is confirmed case by case, and certain elements can need more notice.
Which languages are available? The visit is hosted in English. Interpreting for other languages can be arranged on site; tell us the language when you inquire.
How long does it take? About two hours: a 30-minute briefing, about 60 minutes on the floor, and a 30-minute technical discussion.
How is the price calculated? Per group, after we scope your brief. It usually covers host arrangement, technical speaker, interpreting and on-site coordination. We do not quote a figure before we know group size, city, dates, language and topics.
What do we need to provide? Organisation name, participant list, ID or passport details for site registration, preferred city and dates, group size and the questions you want answered. Company registration documents are sometimes requested by the host.
Can we take photos or record? Only where the host allows it. Expect restrictions around hardware and in the workshop, and recording is normally not permitted during technical discussion. We will confirm the rule for your date before you arrive.
This page describes a visit we can arrange on request. City, dates, stations, speakers, demonstration content and access are confirmed with the host for each group; nothing here is a guaranteed inclusion until it appears in your confirmed itinerary.
